About This Episode
Ok, I know we’ve all been ranting and raving about the Sweat workout app by Kayla Itses. It’s super easy to get my home workouts in with minimal time and equipment, and it keeps things fresh by changing up the activities. It also has alternates if you can’t do the exercise listed (like I’m in physical therapy right now so there are some things I just can’t physically do). I actually love that it goes in rounds against the clock instead of just number of reps. It keeps it more engaging for me, and I totally find myself competing against me previous lap completions haha
BUT, let me tell you how frustrated I was after I purchase my subscription and opened the app
So here’s what happened…
So I paid, opened the app which took me to the calendar view to see what the “recommended” workout schedule is (which certain types of workouts on certain days)… and I cannot for the life of my figure out how to create my own custom schedule of like x on mondays and y on wednesdays and z on Fridays.
AND IT ANNOYED ME TO NO END
It actually still irritates me some days, and this is after like 7 weeks of using it.
Because every time I open it to use it, it shows me “today’s workout” even though it isn’t the one I would have chosen to do that day.
Like don’t give me this option of a calendar, and give me a suggested workout plan, that I cannot easily edit. The only thing I can find to do is turn the suggested schedule on or off which doesn’t really serve or help me at all.
I want the option to set all mondays to X and set a reminder to go off at a specific time if I haven’t yet completed it that day. And same for the other days.
DON’T give me an “option” and then give me no real control.
Sweat, I know can do such better work than this.
Here are your takeaways Sweat
All you have to do is this…
→ in the calendar settings, give me the option to set each day of the week to a certain exercise. Literally that alone would be a huge help to me.
→ Bonus points to setting an alarm to go off at a specific time if the workout I’ve chosen for that day of the week hasn’t been completed yet
Here’s what’s missing from the Client Delight™ Framework.
→ what I expected
→ what you promised
Once they have all 8 pieces in place, they’ll be good to go.
This is what I do with my clients, if you want to check it out go to ClientDelightFramework.com
Your Takeaways:
Here’s what you can implement into your business right now:
→ The thing that this really hits on, that may not be so obvious, is this concept of co-creation. Of being part of the process of creating something (like creating my own dang workout schedule!)
→ Think about the opportunities you are giving your clients to be co-creators and make sure that they are truly able to “co-create” with you. Don’t let it be some false representation like this calendar in the Sweat app is to me
Because here’s the thing, Showing me a calendar and giving me a “recommended” workout plan, sets my expectation of “I can set my own workout plan”. And you know what, maybe there is even some super secret way to do it, but if I don’t know that and it isn’t where I am expecting to find it, it’s as if it doesn’t even exist.
Remember, whether it’s real or perceived, it is very real to your clients.
